SIBU: PRS deputy president Datuk Joseph Entulu Belaun said the party would never agree to recently-formed Sarawak Workers Party (SWP) being admitted to the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition.

“Over our dead bodies. SWP objective is clear, and that is to split the Dayak further,” he said at the closing of ‘Native Customary Right and Current Issues Strategic New Approaches Conference’ here on Saturday.

The conference was organised by PRS Youth.

It was attended by PRS Youth chief Mong Dagang, political secretary to the Chief Minister Angeline Umis, Tamin assemblyman Joseph Mauh Ikeh, Ngemah assemblyman Alexander Vincent and Batang Ai assemblyman Malcolm Mussen Lamoh.

Earlier, Entulu, who is also Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development, advised the Dayak community not to associate themselves with SWP.

SWP, he said, claimed that it was BN-friendly and that was expected because it was the only approach to make it saleable to the people.

“It has no track record, no credibility, no respectable icon or reputable leadership.

“It has lots and lots of promises. Those promises are always conditional on if it wins.

“Well, let me tell them this, those promises will remain promises because SWP will not win a single seat from the six PRS seats.”

On a similar matter, he advised PRS members to ensure that the party remains crisis-free.

The party, he noted, was at its most peaceful period thus far in its history.
