PKR Sarawak Eyes 11 Seats

Tuesday, 17 January 2012

PKR Sarawak has targeted at least 11 seats in the coming general election, said Baharuddin Mokhsen in a press conference today.

Baharuddin said he could not reveal where the seats are as it was up to the top leaders to make the decision and announcement.

He said the Pusat had identified six seats but PKR Sarawak added five more as  they understand the intimate details of winnable seats.

He said the PKR has almost completed their preparation for the coming election in term of machinery, logistic, banners, t-shirts and so on.

In another issue,  Nicholas Mujah, PA to See Chee How urged the government to look into the plights of the rural folks concerning the Bantuan Rakyat 1 Malaysia (BRM1) as many of the longhouse folks in the ulu were unaware of such incentives.

He said of the 5.3 million families to benefit, 1.1 million have yet to hand out the forms.

Nicholas said many poor rural folks were not aware and did not know where to get to the forms. In some ulu areas, there was no electricity supply so to Photostat the form is certainly out of question.

While the West Malaysian are already enjoying the benefits, Nicholas said some of the folks have to know of it. “It does appear that there need to be an improvement of system for the rural folks which the BN has not done it,” he said.

The government has extended the due date of application to February 10th.
