PKR today gave a citizen's bravery award to the late Herman ak Sihas for trying to save a student.
PKR Chief, Baru Bian said the party had also passed the hat around and donated RM2,500 to his parents.
Baru Bian said bravery utmately is about extraordinary action by ordinary peopole. He said some live to tell their tales but unfortunately, Herman was not one of them.
Saying that it took a lot of courage for Heman to do such a heroic act, they presented him with a 2012 Citizen bravery award.
Sihas thanked the PKR and all those who had offered them cash and prayers. He said he is both sad and happy. Sad that he lost such a son but happy that his son was so brave and selfless.
He said Herman had always been the brave one and kind to others. When a neighbour house was burned, Herman rushed in to to save whatever he could but sustained burn himself.
Sihas said the family is leaving to God to give blessing to all those who rendered support emotionally and in kind. "I really thank you all," he added.
