BACHOK: The Kelantan Barisan Nasional (BN) is confident of winning 23 of the 45 state seats in the 13th General Election and wrest the state government from PAS. State Umno liaison chairman Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed said this was based on the people’s prevailing sentiments for a leadership change.“The people feel let down by PAS for failing to develop the state despite having given the party more than 21 years to govern,” he told reporters after meeting Kampung Kandis Umno ballot box committee members here yesterday.
Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Dr Awang Adek Hussin was also present at the event which was attended by about 200 villagers. Mustapa, who is also International Trade and Industry Minister, pledged that BN would resolve the problems faced by the people, such as water and poverty, if given the chance to lead the state government. — Bernama
