PR confident will win 10 to 15 seats

KUCHING: State Pakatan Rakyat (PR) expects to win 10 to 15 seats in the coming general election, said state Democratic Action Party (DAP) secretary Chong Chieng Jen.

“In order to capture Putrajaya, PR in Sarawak will have to deliver a minimum of 10 seats. The outcome depends on how strong the wind of change is.

“Not too long ago, the BN government talked about clean sweep of elections but unprecedentedly this time BN leaders are considering the possible loss of few seats even before the election starts.

“This goes to show that the wind of change from the 2008 political tsunami is gaining ground and growing by the day in Sarawak,” he noted in a press conference yesterday.

On another matter, Chong believes there will be a win-win outcome in the ongoing seat negotiation with Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR).

“DAP hopes to get 14 seats but this still depends on the negotiation. We will wait for official announcement from PR top leadership, which will be very soon,” he said, declining to reveal further.
