GE13: Stop fretting about Nansian, Barisan’s Mas Gading candidate told

KUCHING: Barisan Nasional’s Mas Gading candidate Anthony Nogeh Gumbek (pic) has been told to stop blaming Tasik Biru assemblyman Datuk Peter Nansian and his supporters for not throwing their weight behind him.

Former Tasik Biru SPDP secretary Nicholas Kudang Garia said it was absurd for Nansian and his supporters to do so as they were no longer in the party and were against the candidate himself.

“For us voters and supporters in Mas Gading, we find it inappropriate and irrelevant for Nansian, who has been sacked by SPDP — the party that successfully nominated Nogeh as a Barisan candidate — to show up and support him as it would be seen as having conflict of interest, ineffective and meaningless,” he said in a press statement yesterday.

Kudang said although partyless, they were still loyal to Barisan and had made it their mission to save Barisan from losing Mas Gading to the Opposition.

“I strongly believe that Nogeh, who Barisan top leadership has chosen, is the most winnable candidate and has the advantage of having the Barisan arsenal on his side.

“So there is nothing to worry about, crying for help and putting the blame on Nansian and his supporters for not giving their support (on nomination day),” he said.

Kudang also refuted a claim made during Thursday night’s DAP ceramahthat former Mas Gading MP Datuk Dr Tiki Lafe took away their land.

“This is a total lie — it’s baseless and unjustified. It is merely a claim to incite the feeling of voters with the intention to fish for votes.”- thestar online
