Coming GE13 has been known by many as "The Mother of All Elections" and its result will determine the future of our nation. SUPP Bandar Kuching candidate cum the party's Central Youth Chairman Tan Kai is challenging Chong Chieng Jen of DAP to declare openly his stand on PAS's Islamic State agenda.
If Pakatan Rakyat takes over the ruling power, it is just the matter of time before PAS charges forward with its ultimate goal of turning Malaysia into a full Islamic state, governed by Hudud Laws.
Being a two term MP, it would be quite unlikely for Chong to forget when Sarawak DAP withdrew itself from the Alternative Front (PAS, DAP, PKR & MPP) which saw only its central leadership remained within the coalition. The decision was made based on only one reason: because PAS insisted on its agenda of establishing a full Islamic state!
But now things have changed. DAP is marching towards Putra Jaya holding hands with PAS, trying every effort to take over the administrative power. I would like Chong to answer to the following questions:
1. How different is PAS today than the past?
2. In Kelantan, a female hairdresser was issued summon for giving a male customer haircut, men and women are to be separated in public access places such as cinema, swimming pool, when queuing up to make payment at cash registers. Restrictions on stage performance during Chinese deity birthday celebration, female performers were banned? Is this the kind of democracy DAP stands for? Is it even possible that implementation of Hudud law will not affect the non-Muslims?
3. PAS has declared its ultimate goal of making Malaysia a full Islamic state numerous times, whereby our nation will governed only by Hudud law, why DAP remained silent?
4. The only pig abattoir in Kedah was demolished right after Pakatan took over the state regime but their promise of building a new one is never materialized.
5. If a non-Muslim woman was gang-raped by a number of men whom one of them is a Muslim man. In order to qualify as a legitimate eyewitness and to testify in the Syariah court, he has to be a pious Muslim (there must be at least four eyewitnesses to testify). So, if there were fewer than four eyewitnesses, or if one or more of them are non-Muslims, i.e relatives of victim, then, they will not be a legitimate eyewitness and therefore, cannot testify. Is this true?
6. Kedah State Assembly approved the provisions in the "Mufti and Fatwa (Kedah) Bill 2012" to replace the "Mufti and Fatwa (Kedah Darul Aman) Enactment 2008 (Enactment 10)" on 17th April last year, with a new Section 22A inserted which states that a Fatwa decided by the Mufti or Fatwa Committee, whether gazetted or not, cannot be challenged, appealed, reviewed, denied or questioned in any civil or Syariah court.
This is a total violation of Federal Constitution as it can overrule the judicial purview of the civil court. Under the Article 121 (Judiciary) of the Federal Constitution, no State Assembly is given the authority or power to overrule the jurisdictions made by the civil court but after the amendment of the bill, Kedah's Mufti and Fatwa Committee now possesses absolute power to do so. As a practicing lawyer, what are your views?
To conclude, we have all the reasons to believe, based on PAS's record in the past two years that the party is marching towards achieving its goal with the assistance of DAP and PKR, hence, the implementation of Hudud law as we can see in PAS ruling states. Not only that, we can see the escalating dominance of PAS in the coalition with some of its policies lopsided towards extremism.
DAP being adherent to PAS is no surprise to many of us. Their Pending and Padungan assemblymen Violet Yong and Wong King Wei have more than once scoffed at the issue by saying that it is obsolete or "out-dated".
We can clearly see that: DAP has no say within the coalition (especially in front of PAS) even though it won more seats than PAS in the past election. The truth is, DAP is incapable of stopping PAS from achieving its goal. Apart from that, DAP is trying so hard to "bleach" or cover up PAS's hidden agendas in exchange of the party's political gain.
Throughout the years, SUPP has never changed its stand in opposing PAS's political agendas. Unlike DAP who is defending and saying good words for PAS, trying its every effort to create an illusion, giving the Rakyats a false impression that PAS intends to establish a welfare state, instead of a theocratic Islamic state.
I am challenging Chong Chieng Jen to declare his stand on the above mentioned issues. Does he stand in favour or against PAS's Islamic state agendas? Please stop fooling the Rakyats.
I am appealing to the voters to think thoroughly and wisely before they cast their votes. If Pakatan Rakyat takes over the regime, Malaysia will "change" into a theocratic Islamic state, our democracy and freedom will vanish.- sarawak update
