PKR claims more funds allocated in two weeks than in last 50 years

MUKAH: State PKR said the amount of allocation announced by both state and federal Barisan Nasional leaders in the last two weeks of campaigning is more than the total sum that the government had spent on Balingian constituency for the last five decades.

“This has shown how important it is to have a dual party system. So we urge all voters to come to vote on March 29,” said State PKR vice-chairman See Chee How in a statement.

See however questioned the extravagant cost of building the 11-km missing link road between Kuala Serumpai and Kuala Tatau which was announced by Infrastructure and Communication Minister Dato Sri Michael Manyin yesterday morning.

He pointed out that on the average, one km of road in Sarawak here cost RM1 to RM1.5 million. The above mentioned link road, he said, would cost RM230 million.

“We want people to know that the Barisan Nastional (BN) government has make so many promises in the Balingian by-election because of strong presence of PKR,” said See.

Meanwhile, state PKR launched its Balingian by-election flyers yesterday morning at its operation room at Boulevard Setia Raja.

In this by-election, the opposition party tried to convey the issues faced by the people of Balingian creatively through caricatures and cartoon drawing.

According to the statement, the main theme for PKR in this by-election is “Where is Justice?”.

Based on the theme, the party will continue to explain to the people the reasons to entrust the responsibility of an assemblyman to PKR which is a party that fights for the people’s interest and upholds justice to create a better future for Balingian.

PKR for the next few days will distribute its flyers throughout Balingian constituency with the hope that the people would identify with the party’s struggle and support its candidate Abdul Jalil Bujang. - theborneopost
